A young couple from Minnesota are requesting housing in this area. If you can help, call Tamra Huesers in Max at 679-2030.

Last Thursday a large group of friends helped Marian Schmidt celebrate her birthday at the Max Cafe. Marian's Mother, Vi Kostenko of Garrison, formerly from Max, was able to be with us, after returning home from an extended stay with her daughters in Florida.

Sunday, April 22nd, a large crowd helped Lila Fannik celebrate her 85th birthday at the Max Senior Center. Lila's family hosted the celebration. Virginia Sides of Stockbridge, Georgia; Carolyn and Alan Barden and Will, Dennis and Karla Fannik and family, all of Max, and special friend Linda Feldner of Minot, and others were hosts. Virginia Sides stayed two weeks with her Mother, Lila Fannik.

Many relatives came from a distance: Don and Jan Meronuck of Fargo; Gina and Barry Lee and family of Bismarck; Melody and Al Kahlbaugh and Lee of Grand Forks; John and Alice Dvirnak and Kay Dvirnak and Tim Dvirnak of Killdeer. Also Monte and Deb Greenup of Dickinson; Rick and Kathy Krebsbach of Bowman; Mabel Albertson of Surrey; Bert and La Fae Albertson of Norwich; Beth Marschall of Sandy, Utah. And many from Garrison, Minot, Butte, Douglas, Washburn, Underwood and Burlington also helped Lila celebrate.

The musicians played several songs with Dee Edwards, Orlin Larson, Doris Engene, and Eleanor Mehlhoff entertaining. Everyone enjoyed the music played on the violin, saw, accordion, and bass guitar.
