The recent Senior Citizen meeting was very well
attended. Of course the food was very good! Vice-President Dellora Schmidt led
the meeting in the absence of President Joy Lies. And we have new
members!! John and Shirley Sizemore have
joined us. Shirley is Mary Lushenko's daughter and even at almost 95, Mary was
also at the potluck and meeting.
The Max Library's Summer Reading program Dream Big Read, is starting Monday June
11th. There is more information about it on the back of your free community
calendar. This month the calendar is a nice bright yellow!
The Schmidt Museum on Main Street in Max will be
open during the month of June, so you should tour it before the month slips by.
You may visit on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9-12 noon and 1-3 p.m.
Free admission and all are welcome. You will be amazed at such complete
displays of how Max 'used to be' and how school was taught and how people
lived, 'back then'.
Two former Max High School students have now
celebrated their children graduating! Grandparents Dwight and DeeOn Mack
attended Graduation for their grandson Dwight J. Mack in Mandan on Sunday May
27th. He is the son of DeWitt and Pam Mack. DeWitt graduated from Max High
School.
Dwight and DeeOn Mack also attended the
Graduation of their granddaughter DeeAnna Ziegler in Hazen on Sunday May 27th.
They attended the Open Houses held for both graduates in a whirlwind of a
week-end! DeeAnna is the daughter of Dawn and Steve Ziegler. Dawn graduated
from Max High School.
The Library Movie Matinee is this Sunday
afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Civic Center.
This coming Monday, June 11th at 6:30 p.m. the
Max Civic Club will hold their June meeting at the Park with a potluck picnic.
Hot dogs and pop will be provided. And 'shelter' will be at the Max Civic Center
if the weather doesn't cooperate.
