We extend our sincere sympathy to Carrie Ahmann and family in the death of Carrie's Mother, Evelyn Nelson of Douglas. We are so sorry, Carrie.

I want to give a big Thank you to Tamra Huesers for writing very interesting and professional Max News while I was gone. She did a wonderful job but she can't take on the weekly job. I asked! Thank you, Tamra!

The Child Evangelism Fellowship Good News Club will start meeting on Tuesday, November 8th from 3:20-4:30 in the Max School cafeteria. They will be meeting each Tuesday for six weeks. All children are welcome to attend and if you can't come to the first meeting, you may come later on. There will be singing, Bible Study and lunch. Come and enjoy all the meetings. Michele Schmidt of Max won the homemade quilt at the Catholic Church's Soup and Sandwich event. Fall is over when all the churches have had their food events!

The November Senior Citizen noon potluck and meeting will be held November 18th. Please bring non-perishable food items to each meeting and also to Santa Day that is an annual event in Max. This helps out the Food Pantry in Washburn that distributes to those in need in McLean County. The Seniors' Christmas meal/party in December is at the Over 55 Club building. There will be more definite plans for this event.

On Saturday Eugene and Margaret Zaderaka took their newly adopted dog, Trixie, to the Bark Park in Minot to meet up with her former young owners and their 5 and 6 year old children. It definitely is a 'Bark' park!!! There are several large fenced in areas where your pet can run freely without a leash. Trixie had to be kept in a kennel in their home in Mohall while both parents worked and they wanted Trixie to have a better home with freedom to run. She does exactly that here on the farm: run!

On Sunday afternoon Grandpa and Grandma Zaderaka helped Samuel Mikel Zaderaka celebrate his 2nd birthday at Happy Joe's in Minot. Samuel, his sister Hannah, and their parents are having to live in a 3-bedroom FEMA trailer, which is very-very small and Samuel is very, very active!!

There is a lot of activity just as you turn off Highway 83, into Max. A C-Store is being built there and fuel pumps for semi trucks and the like are being installed. Work is still going on, on the very top of the new concrete bins of the Max Farmers Elevator. The fall weather is agreeing with the workers but this week-end's forecast may be the beginning of our long winters!

The server that hosts maxnd.com is still down.  However, the site is being moved to a new server and should be up and running no later than tomorrow, Tuesday, November 1st.  We apologize for the inconvenience this outage may have caused. 

Just a reminder, too, that the Max Community Library will be holding its Halloween party at the Max Civic Center from 3:30 to 5:00 pm today.  There will be games, activities, and a meal for kids aged pre-school through sixth grade.
