Congratulations to Vince and Heather (Kinn) Bostow of Max, in the birth of their daughter Madison J. Bostow. Madison has an older brother at home who is ready and willing to help take care of her. Congratulations.

The pictures of Sunnyslope Homemaker's 60th. anniversary did not arrive at the McLean County Independent in time to be published in last week's paper, my fault. So look for them today!
Connie Sambor, Lorna Sambor and Lila Fannik enjoyed the Kite Festival at the Fort Stevenson State Park last Sunday. Connie spent a week in the Max area with her Mom Lorna and other family and friends.
Recent week-end guests at the home of their son and brother, Steve and Tami Hauf and family of Sabin, MN were Ed. and Idamae Hauf, Brian and Brenda Reister of Waconia, MN and Jim Hauf of Maplewood, MN. These mentioned all attended the confirmation service of Steve and Tami's son, Austin, on Sunday afternoon at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church in Sabin.
The classmates of Max High School's class of 1959 met at a luncheon in Minot. Classmates there were Sharon Strilcov, Carolyn Nett, Ruby Schlichting, and Connie Sambor. Marian Schmidt also joined the group.
A week ago, Karen Polsfut took Frances Spitanik and Lila Fannik also rode along, to Edgewood Vista in Minot where we visited Margaret Scurlock and Margaret Berntson. Other visitors were Delores Boozenny and Corlis Roedocker.
On Memorial Day Lila Fannik visited her new precious neighbor, baby Madison J. Bostow. Parents are Vince and Heather Bostow.
Upcoming auctions: Thursday, June 18th will be the Linda and Duwayne Haynes auction in Max, starting at 4:00. On Saturday, July 11th will be the Annie Rovenko auction.
Don't forget to take in the Alumni meeting this Sunday, June 7th. at the school at 2 p.m. Help plan the 2011 All School Reunion. Then the next day, Monday, June 8th the Max Civic Club will be meeting at 6 p.m. with lunch being served. New members are very welcome to come see what Civic Club is all about.
Future events include the Annual Summer Solstice in the Max City Park at 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 14th. More information about this event is on the back of this month's community calendar that you have received in your mail and is also available around town for free.
Did you notice? At the bottom of the community calendar it states there will be a City Wide Garage Sale held in August, for all parties interested. That means we need to start 'downsizing'!
