Tomorrow, Friday May 27th at 6 p.m. is the Senior Citizens' Potluck and meeting. Remember to bring your Our Family labels and non-perishable foods and toiletries that will go to the McLean County Resource Center in Washburn. We are hoping these items will be brought to each meeting. There is a large amount of items already there in the Senior Center but not nearly enough to meet the Resource Center needs. You may also bring your baked goods for the bake sale and also bring your pie for the pie and coffee events going on at the Senior Center the next day, Older Americans' Day, from 10-2. Kyle's Greenhouse will be there selling plants of all kinds.
Celebrate former Max-ite's 80th birthday at 4 p.m. at the VFW Club in Minot. Sunshine Sally Kabanuck will be excited to see you. Did you know that Sunshine Sally performed with the Wagon Masters on the Dakota Hayride Show in the 1950's? Wayne Kabanuck will perform at this event and lunch will be served. Please do not bring gifts. The VFW Club is located at 1100 31st street S.E. Minot. In looking this location up on the map of Minot included in the phonebook, you go east of the Fairgrounds on Burdick Expressway until you reach 31st Street, then turn south until you reach the VFW Club. I notice this is close to the river so watch for water - where it shouldn't be.
Then you get into June with activities for the children. June 2nd will be the first day of the Summer Reading program, One World, Many Stories, at 10 a.m. Following dates are June 16th and 23rd. If you have any questions, call the Max Community Library at 679-2263.
On June 8th at 6 p.m. there will be T-Ball and also Pee-Wee at 7 p.m. in Max. T-Ball and Pee-Wee on June 16th will be at 5:30 in Turtle Lake. Max will host T-Ball and Pee-Wee at 6 p.m. on June 23rd. Washburn will host T-Ball at 6 p.m. and Pee-Wee at 7 p.m. on June 28th.
Have you sent in your All-School Reunion registration - have you reserved a camping site or room - because July 1st and 2nd are coming fast. Bring warm-dry weather with you!
