We extend our sympathy to Sharlene Kostenko Fredrich in the loss of her husband, Dennis Fredrich of Garrison. Vi Kostenko of Garrison is Sharlene's Mother and Marian Schmidt of Max is her sister.
St. Matthew's L.W.M.L. held their meeting on Saturday with Pastor Nelson leading the Bible Study and Dellora Schmidt was the hostess.
Sharon Songstad Shaw was able to bring former Max resident Margaret Bernston to Max for a relative's baby shower. Margaret enjoyed visiting with her friends.
Larry Irwin, 1959 graduate of Max High School, donated a beautiful hand carved train to the Max Over 55 Club. Larry writes that he is very willing to donate trains for silent auctions, raffles, or other fund raisers, for his community.
The Douglas Sportsman's Fishing Derby is Saturday, February 11th. Sunday, the 12th is the big Soup and Sandwich Lunch put on by Max's Community Library at the Max Civic Center from 10:30-1:30. You do not need to be present for the raffle drawing. Max Civic Club meets Monday at 7 p.m.
The Max School has a volunteer opportunity where parents, teachers, administrators, school board members and students will be involved in the school's curriculum decisions for K-12. If you have an interest in serving on the Max School curriculum committee please contact the school for more information at 679-2685.
