This Saturday is the Older Americans' Day at the Max Senior Center (Over 55 Club building). Kyle's greenhouse will be there - raffle drawings will be held - free pie and coffee - and bake sale from 10 until 2 p.m.
This Saturday is also Max's Clean-up Day, postponed from last Saturday when it was raining.
You have most likely seen the notice in the newspaper and on the Community Calendar about the Mother's Day Special being held at the new Max Cafe on Highway 83, Max. Hours are from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. and a free carnation will be presented to each Mother eating there, as long as the supply lasts! You can celebrate Mother's Day and honor your loved one without even leaving town - how wonderful.
Quite a few ladies gathered at the Max Senior Center last week to celebrate Marian Schmidt's and Linda Hayne's birthdays, only a day apart. It was alot of fun visiting and laughs.
"I live by this credo. Have a little laugh and look around you for happiness instead of sadness. Laughter has always brought me out of unhappy situations. Even in your darkest moment, you usually can find something to laugh about if you try hard enough." - Red Skelton
