Notice of change: The Open House for Max Stolt's 80th birthday will be held in the Max Civic Center instead of the Senior Center. This will be held on Saturday, December 19th from 2 o'clock until 5 o'clock.

Bernice Iverson, formerly of Max, has a new address of 802 N. 33rd. Avenue; Apt. 108; Fargo, N.D. 58102.

Everett Johnson, formerly of rural Max, also has a new address of 1119 N. Covell Avenue; Sioux Falls, S.D. 57104.

Have you heard the chimes of St. Matthew's Church playing Christmas carols? 'Tis the season!

Thursday, today, December 10th, the Max Community Library will be holding an open house from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. for interested individuals to drop in and learn how to use the library's online services. People can learn how to reserve books, check their accounts, and perform other functions online. The system is very user-friendly. Coffee and cookies will be served. They will also hold another open house on Monday, December 14th from 1:00 to 5:00 if you can't come today.

This coming Saturday, December 12th is "Santa Day" in Max. This event is sponsored by Bremer Bank and Insurance and the Max Civic Club. They will be serving pancakes and sausage from 9:30 until 11:30 at the Max Civic Center. Mugs and Hugs by the McLean Sheriff's Department will be there and of course Santa will be coming too.

Sunday, December 13th at 1:30 is the Senior Citizens' Potluck Christmas Party at the Over 55 Center. A program is planned with special music. There will be a gift exchange of a $5 gift that could be for either a man or a woman.

On Saturday, December 19th, Kayla Rose of Bismarck and Rugby will be getting married in the First Lutheran Church in Bismarck at 4:00. Kayla lived in Max the first few years of her life, before the family moved to Rugby. Many remember her Father and Mother, Gary and Darlene Rose.

Tomorrow evening, Friday, December 11th, the Max and Parshall basketball game can be viewed on the BEK Channel on t.v. at 7:00 p.m.

Virginia Fannik Sides and Harold Sides of Stockbridge, GA were visiting with her Mother, Lila Fannik, for a week over Thanksgiving. They left on Tuesday, December first. Guests at Lila Fannik's home for Thanksgiving were her family of Carolyn and Robert Barden, Will Barden, Sarah and Angele Becker, Dennis and Karla Fannik, Shawna Fannik and friend Jesse, Casey Fannik and friend Samantha, along with Virginia and Harold Sides. Later in the evening, Homer and Alvie Nesson and John and Brenda Novodvorsky came to visit.

On Monday, Sarah and Angele Becker flew home to the Base in Georgia to her husband and Angele's Dad, Adam Becker. They have been in Max for two months, visiting Sarah's Dad and Mom, Robert and Carolyn Barden. Carolyn and Robert took Sarah and Angele to Bismarck on Monday for the trip back home.

The lighting of the Christmas tree and potluck was held on Sunday night. Jodi Gullickson had a reading on the Meaning of Christmas and Robin Plesuk took part in the program with songs and recitations.

St. Matthew's L.W.M.L. ladies met Saturday afternoon. They all brought lunch and Christmas carols were sung. It was decided to donate a quilt to Gorlyn Wohlk who recently lost his home in a fire.
