June 20, 2013

We extend our sincere sympathy to Mona Berke's family. She passed away on June 10th and her funeral was held at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Max on June 15th.

The final session for swimming will be August 5-9, traveling by bus. Contact Amy Hauf at 337-6614.

The week-end was busy with the 5K Run Friday evening and it was a beautiful evening to be outside! Saturday was busy with nearly a dozen garage sales going on in Max. These sales were very interesting and we hope all of you sold a lot of your items.

At the Civic Center on Main Street, vendors of various products and services were set up for everyone to view and enjoy.  If you weren't too worn out by then, you could join in with the group doing Zumba Dancing in the City Park.

The best came at the end of the day - a potluck picnic and a lot of visiting.

Brenda Hauf Reister enjoyed these events with her Mother.

Cole Zaderaka from Minot enjoyed fishing with a friend and his father on Father's Day. But the day took a twist when their motor failed, in the middle of Lake Sakakawea. They drifted to the Snake Creek Embankment while it was still daylight. A very nice stranger found them and towed them to the shore. But now what - the pickup and boat trailer were at another area. More relatives became involved and everyone and everything was reunited!  And Cole still likes to fish!  They all did catch walleyes but threw them back in.

Last Friday Lila Fannik had many relatives for dinner....as it was Flag Day for all of America. Alice Dvirnak, Killdeer, N.D.; Joyce Johnson Galesburg, Ill; Deb Greenup, Dickinson, N.D.; Rev. Wayne and Ingrid Dvirnak, Elizabeth, Colorado; Virginia Fannik Sides, Stockbridge, Ga; LaVonne Fannik, Max. Others coming by briefly were Loriss and Karen Dvirnak, Killdeer and Rev. Lee Johnson of Galesburg, Ill.
On Saturday, Carolyn Barden, LaVonne Fannik, Virginia Sides, Alice Dvirnak, Joyce Johnson, and Lila Fannik all attended Women's Conference at Camp Bentley, Drake. Others attended camp also, Nephew Don Meronuck, Fargo and Jeremey Meronuck and Ramona of Las Vegas, Nev.
