January 12, 2012

Several relatives and friends from the area attended the funeral for Ed Kabanuck, in Huron, SD. Sally is doing as well as can be expected and would love to hear from you. Her mailing address is Sally Kabanuck, 1251 Arizona Avenue S.W. - Apt. 206, Huron, SD 57350.

Reminders: Max Senior Citizen members will have their belated Christmas catered meal at noon on January 27th, which is their regular meeting day also.

The Max Community Library's 4th annual Soup and Sandwich lunch is on Sunday, February 12th with serving from 10:30-1:30.

St. Matthew's L.W.M.L. held their Bible Study this past Saturday, with Pastor Nelson leading the Bible Study and the hostess was Tammy Rae Hauf. There was a good turnout with over a dozen attending.

Notice: Marla Eliason, Medical Missionary to Honduras, will not be going there anymore. It has become seriously dangerous there with Americans being taken hostage. Several in the community have been sewing and purchasing baby and children items for her to take with her. She appreciated each and every piece! At this point she does not know of another mission that could use items but if you do, please notify Margaret Zaderaka and I will get the information back to her and to the many people who sewed for her.

Are you hungry? Are you tired of cooking every meal? Come to the Over 55 Club building on Main Street at noon on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday to enjoy the Meals on Wheels meal. If you are a member of the Max Senior Citizens, and a Senior, the cost of each meal is minimal. Please contact any Senior member for more information. There is a phone number for you to call the day before you plan on eating there.

This is a belated 'Thank you' to whoever set the lit scene on the pond for everyone to enjoy. Don't you wonder if the 'Plunge' can take place this winter - the pond is not frozen over, as it needs to be.

"Forgiveness is a funny thing. It warms the heart and cools the sting." William Arthur Ward
