We extend our sincere sympathy to the families of Clara Wagner and Roy Levadney. Clara and Roy are both formerly of Max. Clara was 99 and Roy was 81.

The next games will be on June 16th in Turtle Lake with T-ball at 5:30 and Pee-Wee at 5:30 also.

Bible School time! Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Max will be having the Camp of the Cross come in on June 13th-17th for Bible School. Times are 9 a.m.-1 p.m. The children need to bring their own lunches and also, it is $10 per child.

Today, June 2nd is the first day of the Summer Reading Program at the Max Community Library at 10 a.m.

The Max Senior Citizens had their May potluck and meeting with 18 attending to hear the two speakers from Minot present information on Alzheimer’s and to tell of help that is available. The next day was a very successful Older Americans' Day at the center.

Margaret Zaderaka joined her sister Elaine Fischer and daughter, Kilene Fischer Trueblood from MN to take in their sister's 80th birthday celebration, in Bismarck on Sunday. We were pleasantly surprised to see Florence's children and their children there from Wisconsin, Texas and elsewhere and a cousin from Colorado. Gene and Margaret spent some time in Bismarck and were just overwhelmed with all the sandbags and trucks everywhere. The residents being threatened by the Missouri River definitely need all our prayers and help!

"Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you'll find one at the end of your arm. As you grow older you will discover that you have two hands. One for helping yourself, the other for helping others." -- Audrey Hepburn
