On the Max website, if you look up "View Guestbook Entries" you will find one requesting pictures and another praising our town of Max! This comes from Robert with an e-mail address of karb 916@hotmail.com: "I am looking for older photos of the city of Max ranging from the 1920s to the 1980s. Any shot taken on the streets of Max will work great. It doesn't matter who is in it and you don't need to include the name of people who may be in the pictures if you do not wish to. I'm working on a little project documenting the changes that have gone on in the city. If you have anything you could send in an e-mail, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!"
Then Cormac Canales, NY, with an e-mail address of reallyloud8999@aol.com writes: "I spent a little while in Max, ND while I was traveling through the Mid/North-west on a post-high school graduation road trip a few years ago. I just wanted to say that the people in the town were very polite, welcoming, and friendly, to the extent that I have not forgotten them all this while later. I hope to revisit your wonderful town again one day."
It is pretty wonderful to know that people are using and enjoying the web-site and to also let us know they think Max is pretty wonderful! How about you - do you ever look into all the areas on the Max web-site? www.maxnd.com
The Max landfill will have weekly open evening hours for the summer. Weather permitting, it will be open on Wednesday evenings from 5-8 p.m. throughout the summer, starting on June 15th. To have the landfill open at other times, please call the Auditor's Office at 679-2770 to make arrangements.
Something is missing on Main Street! The former Grandma's Kitchen/Grandpa's Laundromat - then Wrangler Cafe - has been torn down to make room for the present Max Cafe when it gets moved. Word is that Max Farm Services/Cenex will be building a truck stop where the Max Cafe now stands. And they are working on the forms for the new concrete elevator bins to be poured - so Max is active and interesting!
