Even though not all 300 tickets were sold for the
Max Civic Club's Annual Steak Fry held this past Saturday evening, the 24th,
the event was a success with the entertainment giving the attendees even more
than they expected. The Magician Bill Sorenson and Mylo Hatzenbuhler gave the
audience what they had hoped for, and even more. The duo were given a standing
ovation!
A request has come in through our personal
e-mail, not through the Max Web-site, so I will copy it here for you to see if
you have any information for this John Njaa (njaa@section20.com).
He writes: " I grew up in Cooperstown, ND
and entered the Navy in 1956. I attended a Navy school in Millington, TN in
1956/1957. While at that school, I met a Ted Harchanko, who, if I remember
correctly, grew up in Max. We became friends. We met a couple young ladies in
Memphis, and Ted married one of them. After we left the school in Millington,
we lost track of each other. Years ago, I heard that Ted had an electrical
contracting business in El Cajon, CA. I think I also remember being told that
Ted disappeared while traveling in Mexico. Would any of this ring a bell with
anyone in Max? Is my memory correct about Ted growing up in Max? It would be
interesting to know what became of my friend and the lady from Memphis. Thank
you, John Njaa" If anyone knows of anything to tell John Njaa but can't
respond through his e-mail address, please contact me, Margaret Zaderaka at
679-2459 or via postal mail at 2983 30th. Avenue N.W.; Max, N.D. 58759 and I
will forward the information to him for you.
