Tomorrow, May 20th the Max Kindergarten class will have their graduation ceremony at 10 a.m. Then the next day, Saturday the 21st is the Max High School graduation ceremony at 2 p.m. Both will be held at the Max Public School.

Cleo Kulish of Dickinson and Lila Fannik attended the mid-year meeting of the Womens' Christian Temperance Union at Steele. N.D. Many schools, grades 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, sent in coloring sheets that were judged. Cleo was an overnight guest with Lila and returned to her home on Friday.

Phyllis Narum of Douglas and her son Clay Narum of Minneapolis, MN visited with his Aunt Lorna Sambor and Aunt Lila Fannik on Friday afternoon. Earlier they were at the Benedictine Nursing Home in Garrison with Clay's Aunt Margaret Scurlock and Aunt Hazel O'Shea at The Meadows.

May 27th the Senior Citizens will hold their May potluck and meeting at 6 p.m. Remind yourself to bring your Our Family labels; non-perishable foods; and toiletries that will go to the McLean County Resource Center in Washburn. Try to bring these items each month.

Someone is turning 80. Sally Kabanuck will celebrate her 80th birthday at the VFW Club in Minot on Saturday, May 28th at 4 p.m. She was born on May 31st. Wayne Kabanuck will entertain and lunch will be served. Please do not bring gifts.

Also on the 28th the Max Senior Citizens will be celebrating Older Americans' Day from 10-2. Kyle's Greenhouse will be there and it is always so refreshing to see all the beautiful flowers he brings, along with vegetable plants for your garden. A bake sale will be held and free pie and coffee will be served.

T-Ball, Pee-Wee Summer Rec, and Summer Reading Program all begin in June. The dates for T-Ball are June 8th at 6 p.m. Pee-Wee will be held at 7 p.m. in Max. June 16th has T-Ball at 5:30 p.m. and Pee-Wee at 5:30 all in Turtle Lake. June 23rd has T-Ball at 6 p.m. and Pee-Wee at 6 p.m. in Max. June 28 has T-Ball at 6 p.m. and Pee-Wee at 7 p.m. in Washburn. I will list the other dates so you can plan your summer around them and then each week I'll put them in the Max News with the times and locations. July 7th, 12th, 18, 19th, and July 21st. The Summer Reading program, One World, Many Stories, will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursdays, June 2nd, 16th, and 23rd. July's dates will be listed later on. If you have any questions, please call the Max Community Library at 679-2263.

As the All-School Alumni Reunion draws closer, there is more activity of interest going on in Max. Have you noticed the activity at the Max Farmers Elevator? If they are still pouring the bins during the reunion, the visitors will be treated to a fascinating project.
