April 15, 2010

The Max News is written each week by Margaret Zaderaka.

If you have received your McLean County Independent on this Wednesday, you are in time to read about the Donkey Basketball game taking place at the Max High School gym tonight, starting at 7:30. Children 12 years old and under will be able to ride the donkeys, free! Tickets for the game are required for those in first grade through adult and these can be purchased from the Max Boys BB players or you may contact the Max School at 679-2685.

This coming Friday, April 16th, the Max High School students will be performing their play at 1:30 in the afternoon and again in the evening at 7 p.m.

Next Thursday, April 22nd, the Max High School Pops Concert will be held at 7:30 at the school.

Good News Club has started again, for 5 weeks. They meet in the school cafeteria, every Monday, right after school lets out. On May 10th the NW Director of Child Evangelism, Morris Erickson, will be there.

A great time was had by four year old Katy Gillis when she attended the Annual Easter Egg Roll at the White House. Katy is the daughter of Dena (Olson) and Major Dave Gillis of VA. She is the granddaughter of Sharon and Art Olson and great granddaughter of Pat McIntyre all from Max; and great granddaughter of Anna and Larry Everson from Bowden. After the Easter egg hunt, the President and First Lady read stories to the children.

Max has a new City Maintenance woman, Tammie Johnson. Let's do our part to help keep the city looking nice.

The Max Public School is collecting data to estimate future class sizes. You are to contact the school at 679-2685 if you have a child who is 4 years or younger.

And let's not forget about helping to pay for the new bleachers in the gym at the Max Public School. Contact the school if you have any questions about this.
