Friday the 13th must be wreaking its havoc!  Due to unexpected circumstances that are beyond our control, maxnd.com is experiencing a temporary outage.  The duration of this outage is not known, but could last up to seven days.  We don't, however, expect the outage to stretch out that long. We extend our heartfelt sympathy to Donald Olson and family in the loss of their wife and mother, Carol Olson. A large crowd attended her funeral in Max this past week. Don and Carol ran the Max Cafe for many years so a lot of you remember them well. They moved from Max into the Bismarck area where they both had jobs different than running a cafe. Their home was purchased by Pat McIntyre. Donald's brother and his wife are Art and Sharon Olson, of Max.

Lorna Sambor, currently in the Garrison Nursing Home recovering from her hip fracture, received several out of town visitors over the July 4th Holiday week. On the 3rd she was visited by Paulette and Steve Schmaltz, Tim and Marina Schmaltz and their daughter Brooke all of Mission Viejo, CA. Visiting also were Todd and Julie Schmaltz and family of The Woodlands, TX as well as Ken Sambor of Bismarck. Paulette and Ken are children of the late Paul and Mickie Sambor. During that week she was also visited by her grandson Mark Sambor and friend Julie from Minnetonka, MN and Virginia Sides and grandchildren of Stockbridge, GA.

Our granddaughter, Zoe Zaderaka, returned safely from her over-sea's trip with the People to People group. They were gone for 20 days. Unfortunately shortly upon her arrival home, Zoe got sick so Grandma and Grandpa here haven't had a chance to spend time with her and see her many pictures and listen to her many stories. She made several new friends on the trip - thank goodness for 'texting'!

Gene and I spent July 3rd. with Dean, Heidi, Hannah, and Samuel at their cabin at Lake Metigoshie. We all enjoyed the huge display of fireworks put on by the cabin community. Mark, Lori, Cole, Emily, and Zoe were on their way to the cabin also but had vehicle trouble so weren't able to spend time with Dean's at the cabin until Saturday.  Lake Metigoshie is much-much smaller than Lake Sakakawea so Mark found pulling children and adults on water boards and tubes more complicated than in the wide open spaces of Lake Sakakawea.

And right now we all would enjoy the cool breezes coming off of any lake. Please be careful in this extreme heat.
