Ethel Boettcher has recently moved to the Nursing Home in Garrison. Her address is: Ethel Boettcher c/o Benedictine Living Center, Room #36, 609 4th Avenue N.E., Garrison, ND 58540. Ethel is doing well and would enjoy visiting with her friends.

This evening, May 12th at 7 p.m. is the Max High School's Spring Concert.

Through the Guest Book in the Max website, www.maxnd.com, another request has come in. This is from Mary Frizzell at 4425 E. Frederick Avenue, Spokane, Washington 99217. Her email address is: mmarlys@comcast.net. She writes the following: "Good day, I hope you can assist me. I am a daughter of a family line named Doepke. Before Doepke was the family name of Carvell, and prior to this name was the name House. Now my mother told me that my Great Grandmother (Martha House Carvell) was the first lady to ever live in Max, North Dakota. Now where in I hope you can help me.....do you have information on the early days of Max? Do you have records of the early settlers? My mother also mentioned the family name Meiser, but I do not know if this was before Carvell, or if it was on the maternal or paternal side. Anything you have would be a great help. I anxiously await your information by email or by regular mail. I do not use sites like ancestry.com (too expensive). Thank you, Mary M. Frizzell. Mother's maiden name was Doepke. Many Doepke's still live today throughout North Dakota."

The Max RV Park is filling up fast for the All-School Alumni Reunion. If you need a space or want more information, please contact Tammy McElwain at 679-2691 or any other Park Board member.

The McLean County Fair is working on putting up their website, and they are looking for photos to use for personalizing the site. Do you have some photos taken at the fair in past years that you are willing to share? They are looking for photos from all aspects of the fair; 4-H and FFA shows, carnival, vendor shows, car races, social events, etc. If you send photos with children in them, you need an email or written permission to use them online. These photos can be emailed to Tamra Huesers at tamraj@rtc.coop or phone her at 679-2030 for more information.

Kindergarten graduation is on May 20th at 10 a.m. and the Max High School graduation is on May 21st at 2 p.m.

Coming up on May 27th is the Max Senior Citizens' 6 p.m. potluck and meeting. The very next day, Saturday May 28th from 10-2, Kyle's Greenhouse will be at the Senior Center. There will also be a bake sale going on and free coffee and pie will be served during this time. This is to celebrate Older Americans Day.
