We extend our sympathy to the Lindquist family, especially to Gordy and his family at Bottineau and other relatives, many in the Max area. Gordy's grandson, 9 year old Brady Lindquist, passed away January 4th from Sudden Unexplained Death in Epilepsy. Brady's father was Anthony Lindquist.

Minot temperatures made the national news last week with a minus 20 and a minus 50 degree wind chill. This week promises to be above the zero mark.

Pete and Joy Lies have just returned from Fargo where they stayed with their daughter Denise and her husband Terry and family, while Denise and Terry's 14 month old granddaughter Kaysha had open heart surgery in the University of Minneapolis Hospital. Kaysha is the daughter of Tori and Willie, Denise and Terry's daughter. Pete and Joy are her great-grandparents. Kaysha is doing pretty good but is not able to come home yet. Get well, little Kaysha!

You will notice the Plunge Can is out on the ice. Tickets will be for sale at area businesses.

And you will notice activity at the former Centennial Cafe in Max, as it is being readied for opening under new management.

Well Child Clinic and WIC will be held today, January 14th at 9 a.m. and foot care will be held at 1 p.m.

Also today, Thursday the 14th, there will be a public meeting to discuss the girls' basketball co-op. This will be held at 7 p.m. at the Max School. All are welcome - please attend.

Adult volleyball is going on at 7 p.m. on Sunday evenings at the Max School.

Reminder to all Senior Citizens, whether you are a member or not, you are invited to come enjoy the potluck noon meal with the meeting to follow at approximately 1 p.m. on next Friday, January 22nd. The Over 55 building is already being used for various activities in this new year. The membership fee is very inexpensive, so you, too, can enjoy the activities.
