The Grandparents' Day breakfast served by the Max Civic Club was very well attended. The young classes had displays of their work hanging up for Grandpa and Grandma to see and enjoy.

Sunnyslope Homemakers met last week at Linda Krueger's in Minot. There was a pretty good turn out for the meeting. Margaret Scurlock and Vivian Wendschlag were able to attend, also.

The Rocky Acres 4-H Club and the Max Future Farmers of America (FFA) were featured on the Channel #13 television news on Monday evening. They spoke about their corn maze north of Max and how it is in memory of Chelsea Lies, who was a very active member. The corn maze is open on week-ends, Saturdays and Sundays, from noon until 7 p.m. through October 10th and 11th. For more information, contact Daryl Lies at 337-6698.

There is a notice in Max's website that the gas grills have been removed from the Max City Park. They have been vandalized several times and are beyond repair. No new grills will be put up for the vandals to strike, which is unfortunate for those who would like to use them while enjoying the park.

Sunday, September 27th, the Max Over 55 Club will be serving a breakfast of sausage and french toast at the Civic Center on Main Street from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. This is a fundraiser for the ongoing success of the Max Senior Center they all enjoy. This is being subsidized by Thrivent.

Sunday, October 4th, the Catholic Church in Max will be having their Fall Festival. There will be more information on this in next week's news.

Then on Saturday, October 24th the Civic Club will be having their Annual Steak Fry and Dance at the Max Civic Center. Tickets are on sale at various Max businesses.
