February 10, 2011

The Max Community Library's Annual Soup and Sandwich lunch is on this Sunday, the 13th, from 10:30-1:30. Have you viewed the raffle prizes -- the Specialty Baskets -- at the library?

Valentine's Day is Monday, February 14th. Enjoy the Civic Club meeting at the Civic Center at 6 p.m. that evening.

On Wednesday, February 16th, there will be another Alumni meeting at the Max School at 7 p.m. Only a few months left until the All-School Reunion! Have you notified them about any changes that need to be made in the updated All-School Reunion booklet? And for those of you who received the registration papers in the mail, don't forget to send them in as soon as possible. Again, if you know of address changes or other information on other alumni, notify Heather Iverson Lee at 679-2025 or mail her at P.O. Box 235; Benedict, N.D. 58716-0235.

The Plunge can is set up on the ice between the C-Store and the Max Cafe and the tickets are selling. With the below zero temperatures and way-below zero wind chill temperatures the area is having, the can will take up residency out there for quite some time. But don't wait to purchase your tickets for your guesses as to when the can will take the Plunge.

"Money may be the husk of many things, but not the kernel. It brings you food, but not appetite; medicine, but not health; acquaintances, but not friends; servants, but not loyalty; days of joy, but no peace or happiness." Henrik Ibsen
