February 17, 2011

The former home of Ed and Marge Marko on the south edge of Max burned this past Wednesday evening. The exterior of the house doesn't show the severity of the fire, but the interior of the house is uninhabitable. Arlen Miller, his daughter, her fiancé, and Arlen's two grandsons who attend Max Public School were living in the house. The Red Cross is assisting them. The damage is so extensive that to just clean it up and move back in, is impossible. We are so sorry. Our hearts go out to this family and if there is some way our community can help them, please speak up, anyone.

The Max Community Library's Annual Soup and Sandwich lunch this past Sunday was very successful. Many good used books from the area were purchased, also.

Friday, Feb. 25th the Senior Citizens of Max will hold their noon potluck with the meeting to follow. Are you saving your Our Family food labels to bring to the Senior Center?

Reminders: Get your updated information for the Alumni booklet to Heather Iverson Lee at 679-2025 and leave a message. Or mail it all to her at P.O. Box #235, Benedict, N.D. 58716-0235.
Purchase your tickets for your guesses on when the can will Plunge. A lot of snow has melted these last few days with temperatures in the 20's, 30's, and even 40's.....so don't wait too long to purchase your tickets.
