Happy 90th Birthday wishes go out to Berniece
Iverson today, the 6th.
Happy 93rd Birthday wishes go out to Eddie Kempf
this week. Eddie had the misfortune of breaking his hip and is in Intensive
Care.
This Friday and Saturday will be busy in Max with
the Rodeo on Friday at 6 p.m. and on Saturday at 5 p.m. Slack will be at 8 a.m.
on Saturday. There is more information of events being held on Rodeo Days, on
the back of your free blue Community Calendar.
Along with Rodeo excitement in Max, there will be
city-wide rummage sales held Friday and Saturday at some homes. Standard sale
times are 9:00am -3:00pm each day, though some individual sale times vary. There will be an independent-party map with
sale locations and times, for which participation is free and voluntary. Copies
of this map will be available at the Max Senior Center/Over 55 Club on the days
of the sale. The deadline for being on the printed map was Wednesday, August
5th at noon, as the maps were printed that afternoon. However, you could still
be included on the online map. If you would like to be listed, call or e-mail
Tamra Huesers at 679-2030 / tamraj@rtc.coop
and provide your name, the address of your sale, a phone number if you wish, a
very brief summary of what you have for sale, and the hours of your sale. A printable Google map is available online at
http://www.maxnd.com/assets/rummage-sale-map-2015.pdf. The live map can be found at https://goo.gl/maps/Wa16q.
This and every Saturday, weather permitting,
Farmers Market will be held in front of the Max Cafe, with more space up the
street if number of vendors require it. This starts at 9:30. You need to bring
your own setup (table, tent, whatever); you may bring garden produce, canned
stuff, baked stuff....whatever people want to bring to try to sell. There is no
charge to participate.
There will be an All-School Reunion June 24-26,
2016. Meetings to prepare for this are going to be the 4th Sunday of each month
at 2:30 p.m. at the Senior Citizen Center. The next meeting is August 23. The
hope is to find a chairman, secretary & treasurer at this meeting.
The group that got together the first time, think
it should be a more scaled down event with majority of events on Saturday.
Suggestions are parade, kids games/rides, car show, catered meal (not sit
down), street dance, all on Saturday. Friday night could just be registration
and class gatherings. Sunday would be up to families and churches. So to keep
in tune to this reunion, come to the August 23rd meeting at 2:30 p.m. and any
others to be held on the 4th Sunday of each month at 2:30 at the Senior Citizen
Center.
