July 16, 2015

We extend our sincere condolences to the families and friends of Frances Lindquist Brandt, 94 who passed away in the Benedictine Living Center in Garrison. And our sincere condolences to the families and friends of Frances Barnick, 96 who passed away in a Seattle Nursing Home. Both of these ladies are formerly from Max.

The bright yellow Community Calendar has the Senior Citizens' Potluck and Meeting listed for Friday, July 17th.....but this is wrong. Please remember that the Seniors' Indoor Picnic will be held on Friday, July 24th at the Center with the July meeting to follow.

This coming Sunday, July 19th there will be the Memorial Celebration honoring Marleys Lindquist Hoch and Jack Hoch at the Max Senior Center from 2-4 p.m.

There will be an organizational meeting for a 2016 Max Alumni Reunion, on Sunday, July 26th at 2 p.m. at the Max Civic Center. Anyone interested in inputting/organizing/helping should attend this meeting. It is very important to attend this meeting, especially for alumni of all ages, to see IF and WHEN a reunion can be held next year. If you are not an alumnus, please come to the meeting to show your support.

Did you know...Our own Max Cafe has a special TwoFer Tuesday each week, featuring a dinner special at a reasonable price? Week of July 14th will be a Cod Dinner. Phone the cafe at 679-8268 for more information. Top it off with their soft ice cream in a cone, dish, or even a sundae, offering a variety of flavors.

Now back to the Max Annual Rodeo being held on August 7-8. The 5K Run proceeds are designated to updates/repairs for the Max City Park. Donations will also be accepted, if you are unable to do the walk/run.

If you enjoy the Max Community Library, you may be able to help them. Phone Amy at 679-2263.
