April 30, 2015

Sympathy is extended to Erna and the late Paul Hauf and their family in the death of their daughter, Janice Hauf Ryan, living in Oregon City, Oregon. Janice passed away on April 12th at the age of 77. All of the family were able to be in attendance for the funeral. Janice would have been 78 on April 26th. She graduated from Max High School in 1954.

The Max Senior Citizens hosted the McLean County Spring Conference recently with over 50 in attendance.

Several ladies from the community and area attended a prayer service on Sunday afternoon at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, hosted by the members of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. Pastor Woodruff led the group in petitions and prayer. The same Sunday was Marian Schmidt's birthday so the group brought wishes to her in song!

A group of relatives and friends wished Lila Fannik a Happy 88th birthday on Tuesday at the Max Senior Center. Lila appreciated everyone bringing her birthday wishes and for all the visiting.

Lila's family then brought supper in to have a birthday supper together. Around ten family members helped Lila celebrate some more! They had a wonderful time.

Connie Sambor has been visiting with her Mother Lorna Sambor, sister Phyllis and brothers Carson and Kent. Connie's Aunt Phyllis Narum and Aunt Lila Fannik surprised Connie when they came to Lorna's with a cake and pies for Connie's birthday which is on the 29th of April. Connie has since returned home to Minneapolis.

Week-end visitors at the home of Edward and Idamae Hauf were their daughter and son-in-law, Brian and Brenda Reister of Mayer, MN. They helped with some yard work on Friday and they all enjoyed the beautiful day outside.

Marlene and Dennis Schroeder and two of their great grandchildren, Ethan and Olivia, came to visit with Lorna Sambor. Lorna received her first bouquet of crocuses that day!

Phyllis and Joanie Narum and two of Joanie's grandchildren, Gabe and Lily, stopped to visit with Lorna and Connie too.

Preschool graduation will be held at the Max Public School today, Thursday, April 30th.

SAVE THE DATES: August 7, 8, and 9th will be Max Rodeo Days (5K, Street Dance, Rodeo, Sunday Community Worship and potluck.)

Watch for information on the Summer Swimming Lessons.
