Something exciting is happening this next week -
school is starting! Many students and mothers may not feel that way though. Our
first day of harvest seemed to come around the same time that school started in
Max, so we lost 3 of our workers - our sons. So I was one of the not-so-happy
Mothers.
Friday, August 24th at 6 p.m. the Senior Citizens
of Max will be having their potluck and meeting.
Tuesday, August 28th is Picture Day at the Max
School. Smile!
Food prices have taken a hike, in the wrong
direction, I'm sure many of you would agree. Especially since 1910! A tidbit
from an old newspaper says that on March 4, 1910, Kenmare Flour from Farmers
Elevator in Max sold for $3 per 100# or you could buy 1000# for $2.90 per 100#.
"Never think any oldish thoughts. It's
oldish thoughts that make a person old." James A. Farley
