May 24, 2012

Two of our Max ladies are in the hospital and need our prayers for their recovery. Lorna Sambor had emergency hip surgery on Monday and Violet Taylor from the Six-Plex apartments is also hospitalized. We hope for your quick recovery, ladies.

Announcements: Joe Huettl is still looking for volunteers who may be willing to help with the Max Demo Derby that will be taking place on Saturday, July 28th at 1 p.m.  Call Joe at 701-391-5897 and you will find more information about the Derby on Facebook on the "2012 Max Demo Derby" page.

School graduations are over - summer is on its way in!  That means Summer Rec will be starting soon in Max. This year the programs are expanding to include Girls' Softball in addition to T-Ball and PeeWee Baseball. But first you will want to get your picture taken so come to the field at 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 3rd. All teams are having a group picture taken.

Then practice - practice - practice so you can play your best at your games. Practices for T-Ball and Pee-Wee are at 10 and 11 a.m. and Girls' Softball 11-12 on Tuesday and Thursday, June 5th and 7th, and on Wednesday, June 6th there will be only PeeWee and Softball practices and no T-Ball practice.

The next week you will have a game on June 12th at Turtle Lake at 6 and 7. T-Ball and Softball play at 6 p.m. and PeeWee plays at 7 p.m. Then the next day you practice in Max with T-Ball and PeeWee at 10-11 a.m. and Girls' Softball at 11-12 noon. Another game the very next day, June 14th at Max, playing Underwood. T-Ball plays at 5:30 p.m.; PeeWee plays at 6:30 p.m. and Softball at 7:30 p.m.

If you get your McLean County Independent newspaper on Thursdays, the next day, May 25th, is the Max Senior Citizens' (Over 55 Seniors) potluck at 6 p.m. with the meeting to follow. "Come on Down" and bring someone with you!  Rain is in the forecast so hopefully the farmers can come enjoy the abundance of food, the visiting and the meeting.

"A piece of the miracle process has been reserved for each of us." Jim Rohn
