The Max Cafe is on its way! The move today took it to Main Street, leaving the bar section behind, but that will follow soon. Watch for their opening date!
August 5th and 6th are Max Rodeo days and there will be city-wide rummage sales during this time too. The advertised day for rummage sales will be Saturday August 6th 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. You may hold your rummage sale other days too but those days will not be included in the advertising. Contact Christal Haugen by Wednesday, August 3rd at Max Farm Services 679-2487 or at home 679-2785 and leave a message if you are interested in setting up a rummage sale. The cost is $5 which will help defray advertising costs.
The trampoline is still missing - the wind took it somewhere. Contact Vernon or Barbara Wenger at 838-7339 if you know where it is. It had been set up at the Wenger farmstead west of Max.
August swimming lessons are being held at the YMCA on August 1-5 from 11-12:30. If you are riding the bus, please be at the school at 10:15 a.m. with a lunch packed for the bus ride home. Parents are welcome to ride the bus as well. Payment in the amount of $36 for each child is due on Monday, made out to the YMCA ($18 per child if you are a Max Civic Club member.) The bus will return around 1:15 so please be at the school to pick up your child/children at this time. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call Lynae Schroeder at 679-2505.
Jim Berg is requesting any photos or video of the Max All-School Reunion parade. Contact elizabethberg@comcast.net
Does anyone have a lot or a place for displaced flood victims? Not necessarily in Max...anywhere. Too many houses in Minot and surrounding areas cannot be a home to its family anymore, due to the damages the flood caused. We all know what North Dakota winters can be like so it is urgent to find housing for those who don't qualify for FEMA trailers.
