The Sunnyslope Homemakers met at Mary Lushenko's last week. They all told what they'd been doing through the summer. There were 3 visitors and a couple of members couldn't attend. They all enjoyed Mary's Juneberry pies!

Thursday Rodney Kastner of Bemidji, Minnesota visited at Lila Fannik's home. He is a Missionary in Zimbabwe and teaches at the Rusitu Bible College. Before this he was a Missionary in Nigeria. He has lived in Africa for half of his life! Rodney spoke at Bible Study held in Lila's home Thursday evening. Everyone enjoyed the evening with Rod.

Margaret and Gene Zaderaka spent a good part of Sunday with Gary, Darlene, and Kayla Rose at their home south of Rugby. Gary is the new Maintainer fellow there now and loves his work. Darlene keeps busy sewing lap robes and crocheting walker bags for the Nursing Home there. Kayla will be returning to college in Bismarck shortly where she is close to graduating as a lab technician/chemist. Kayla and her fiance', Sam Unruh, a high school math teacher, will be married on December 19th. Jenny lives and works at Streeter, North Dakota.

The Monday, August 17th update from Sharon Strilcov says she is done with her chemo and will be taking pills for a week before her first round is completed. She is staying with her sister, Jan, and her husband Don Meronuck in Fargo and has her treatments and doctor appointments at the Roger Maris Center there.

On Monday, August 17th, Ethel Hauf had several celebrate her birthday with her.

Next week school starts in Max. On Friday of next week, August 28th, the Over 55 Club will hold their August potluck and meeting at 6 p.m. Again, the Centennial Cafe hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
