There is optimism that it will get warmer in
North Dakota! Read this important announcement. There are a few spots open for
summer swimming lessons at the YMCA in Minot. It is for children ages 3-13.
There will be a bus sponsored by Max Civic Club. Children entering second grade
and younger must be accompanied by an adult to assist with dressing and
undressing. Adults are welcome to ride the bus with their child as long as
space is available. Dates have not been determined but we are hoping to have a
June and an August session with the bus, and a June session where the parents
drive. Prices and dates will be given once they are determined. To sign your child
up, they can contact Holly Kersten (720-5135) or Lesli Talbott (240-7048).
This past Friday's Senior Citizens meeting
covered many upcoming subjects, such as the Older American Day and if Kyle's
flowers and plants could come. As the information is confirmed, it will be
announced.
The Senior Citizens made a donation to the Grover
family of Garrison to help with their medical and related expenses. Teresa
(DeeDee) Grover works in Minot and while filling her car with gas, a drunk
driver hit her, nearly severing her leg in the mishap. She is presently in a
Rochester, Minnesota hospital. She has had many surgeries in an attempt to save
her badly injured leg, with one of those surgeries lasting 11 hours. DeeDee
used to deliver Meals on Wheels in Max. The Garrison State Bank & Trust is
handling this account or you can also make donations online at youcaring.com.
On Palm Sunday, Lila Fannik served her family
dinner in her home. Attending were the Fannik families, the Barden family, and
Homer and Alvie Nesson, making it a total of 12.
On Monday a group of family and friends gathered
at the Max Cafe to help Florene Knudtson of Douglas celebrate her birthday. She
is officially a year older!!
