Food and events are in the news this March! Today, March 10th, Foot Care is taking place at the Max Senior Center starting at 2 p.m. Civic Club meets on Monday, March 14th at 6 p.m. The new office building for the Max Elevator will have an Open House on Tuesday, March 15th from 1-4 p.m. Then in one week, March 17th, there will be another Alumni Reunion meeting at the school at 7 p.m.

Sunday, March 13th is the beginning of Daylight Saving time. Then the next two Sundays have breakfasts for you to attend. The 20th the Max Senior Citizens will be serving a French toast and sausage breakfast from 9-1 p.m. There will be a free-will offering to help with Seniors' projects. The 27th the Garrison-Max Ambulance District will be serving pancakes and scrambled eggs with ham from 9-1. All of these breakfasts are held in the Max Civic Center on Main Street.

The Max Farmers Elevator is having its 100th Anniversary and Annual Meeting on Tuesday, March 29 with supper being served at 6 p.m. and the meeting to follow.

St. Matthews L.W.M.L. met at the church on Saturday with Pastor Nelson having the Bible Study. Sandy Hauf was the hostess. A prayer service is being planned.
Patricia Walz stopped in the Max Cafe on Sunday and visited with those having lunch there, on her way to her daughter's in Mandan.

Watch for news on the elementary music contest that was held in Washburn. Max students did very well.

The beautiful music is once again chiming out from St. Matthew's Lutheran Church. Hope everyone is enjoying it.

Faye Hatlestad Herzog writes that her 80th birthday Open House was special - that her sons and their families did a wonderful job of planning the event. Many from Max attended.

On Sunday, Eugene, Margaret, Mark, Cole, Emily, Dean and Hannah Zaderaka met up with Sam and Esther Devnich's granddaughter and her new husband who are living in Middle River, MN. Brenda and Cody Gillund were 'touring' the area, visiting places Brenda hadn't been to since her Grandparents moved to TN. Cody is quite the hunter and was able to shoot two coyotes in the area. Cody is a Deputy Sheriff. Brenda's parents, Marge and Paul Seifert, live in Ooltewah, TN. They are a wonderful young couple. We all thoroughly enjoyed the time together.
