A Max reunion update: Last October a post card was sent to Max High School alumni letting them know about the School Reunion being planned for July1-3, 2011. The content of that postcard is written below, and if you did not receive it but know that the committee may not have your current information, please respond at the web address given:

“To all alumni: You are receiving this email because we have an email on file for you, but we do not have a current valid address. Can you please send us an updated address so that we can keep you informed of the plans for the 2011 event? If you prefer, we will send updates for the reunion via email.

You can provide us address updates either by replying to this message, or access the Max Alumni website at http://www.maxnd.com/alumni.php.

Thank you for your assistance - Kathy Huettl and Heather Iverson Lee, Reunion Co-Chairs.”

There is an alumni meeting this Sunday, Jan 9th at 3 p.m. at the school.

Regarding the recipes for the Seniors' Cookbook, you have one last chance. The recipes need to be in by Jan. 10. So far there are 498 recipes on the G and R Publishing web page. Many more have possibly come in through the mail or personally delivered. A breakdown of recipes submitted through the website is such: Appetizers, Beverages, and Dips 35; Soups and Salads 82; Breads and Rolls 43; Vegetables and Side Dishes 41; Main Dishes and Meats 87; Desserts 84; Cookies and Candies 72; Miscellaneous 54.

On the Max website you will find beautiful pictures of the area taken by our own Brenda Hauf Reister. Click on Community Information at the top of the website page and then click Community Photo Gallery. Many more pictures would be appreciated for this site. Check your pictures!

Lila Fannik and Lorna Sambor were invited to LaVonne and Jake Fannik's Friday afternoon and for dinner. They all enjoyed the afternoon together.

Lorna Sambor was pleasantly surprised when Ann (Berg) Bartelf and son Tyler came to visit her. They are from Nebraska and were here to spend the holidays with her parents, Orrin and Karen Berg. Ann's husband is a military official.

Monday, Jan 10th is Civic Club at 6 p.m. On Thursday, Jan 13th the Foot Care Clinic will be at the Senior Center at 2 p.m.

The big Max Community Library's Third Annual Soup and Sandwich Lunch is Sunday, Feb. 13th from 10:30-1:30. You may purchase your raffle tickets now for a drawing to be held in conjunction with the Luncheon. Prizes this year are Specialty Baskets and there will be more information on these in next week's Max News.
