Robert and Carolyn Barden along with Lila Fannik returned home last week after a trip to Atlanta, Ga. They were gone two weeks. Lila stayed with her daughter and husband, Virginia and Harold Sides. Bardens attended Stella Burts' 88th birthday and also the anniversary of Stella and her husband. Stella is Robert's Mother. They got to see many of Robert's family and friends and also spent time with the Sides. They had great roads all the way until they drove in snow from Jamestown to home. Carolyn and Robert's 25th anniversary was December 6th so they celebrated it once back home in Max.

Important: Deadline for enrolling in or changing plans with Medicare Plan D Prescription Drug Plan is Dec. 31st. You will receive a penalty after that date. Contact Dwight and DeeOn Mack at 679-2623 to set up an appointment to meet them at the Max Senior Center (Over 55 Club building on Main Street) to privately discuss your plan. Even if your present medications don't cost you much, you may need a more expensive medication later on and wish you had this insurance at that time. Remember, Dec. 31st is the deadline.

Also important: Dec. 31st is the deadline for getting any and all recipes into the Seniors for their cookbook they will be selling during the All-School Reunion in July , 2011.

Tomorrow, Friday, Dec. 17th, don't forget to bring non-perishable food items to the noon meal at the Senior Center in Max. This food will go to the Resource Center in Washburn.

If you are familiar with the Max website, www.maxnd.com, you will find a few pictures of interest. Tamra Huesers would like many more pictures for the website, though. Click on "Community Info", then click on "Community Photo Gallery" to see what is there. If you can e-mail your pictures to Tamra, her e-mail address is tamraj@rtc.coop or you may get your pictures to her any other way. These pictures can be of events, scenery, people, and just anything interesting - old or new.

There will be no school in Max from Dec. 23-Jan. 2. School will resume on Jan. 3rd. Sometime in Jan. of the new year there will be another Alumni Reunion Meeting that everyone should make plans to attend! It is only months now until this event takes place!
