November 25, 2010

There was a good turnout at this past Friday's Senior potluck and meeting. It is listed on the Community Calendar for this Friday, 26th but was held on the 19th because of the Thanksgiving holiday. Plans were made for the Seniors' Christmas Party, to be held on December 17th at noon, again a changed date due to the Christmas holiday. Each one is asked to bring a non-perishable food item for the Resource Center in Washburn, instead of a gift. And it’s your last chance, almost, to turn in any recipes you have for their cookbook.

Enrollment is now open for Part D Medicare prescription drug insurance. Compare your present plan or enroll now. Call Dwight or DeeOn Mack at 679-2623 to set up an appointment. Medicare Part D annual enrollment event was held in Minot, Tuesday Nov. 23rd. Dwight and DeeOn attended that so are ready to help you privately go over your present Plan D or to get started. Phone them for an appointment to meet them at the Max Senior Center.

IMPORTANT: The Max Senior Citizens are looking for recipes! They will be publishing a new cookbook to sell during the All-School Reunion being held in Max in 2011. It will be available at area businesses, too. You can submit your recipes to the Seniors’ online account or send them to P.O. Box #122, Max, ND 58759. Or give them to any Senior Citizen. If you wish to submit them online, go to www.gandrpublishing.com--User Name: Cossacks; Password: over55. Let's make Max proud of their Senior Citizens by putting out a full and interesting cookbook.

Sounds like Thanksgiving travel might be hazardous so wherever you are, please be safe and have a blessed Thanksgiving.

"Count your blessings, not your crosses; Count your gains, not your losses. Count your joys instead of your woes; Count your friends instead of your foes. Count your health, not your wealth." Old Proverb
