March 4, 2010

Tomorrow, Friday March 5th, is the World Day of Prayer Service at 7:30 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Max. Mrs.Gordon Olson (Judy) of Burlington will be the guest speaker. She has spoken at these services before and is a very dynamic speaker. Everyone is welcome. Look for a separate article in this week's paper.

Attention all members of Our Saviors Lutheran Church. Don't forget to call Jessica Henne (679-2256) to set up an appointment for your family photo for the new church directory. Photos will be taken on Wednesday, April 7th. The spots are filling fast and the deadline to set up your appointment is March 14th. If you are unable to make an appointment, don't forget to submit your own picture for $5.00. The book won't be complete without you.

Sunday, March 21st, starting at 9:00 a.m. at the Civic Center, the Max Senior Citizens will be serving a sausage and french toast breakfast. There will be a free will offering, although there will also be several items raffled off, for which you need to purchase a ticket if you want to take part in the raffle. More details on this next week. At the last Senior meeting, a speaker came from the McLean County Resource Center. She would like to learn more about Max so will be coming back to some of the Senior meetings.

Think spring - think Mother's Day - think about the day before it, May 8th! Kyle's Greenhouse will once again be bringing his flower and vegetable plants to the Max Over 55 Club house. This is also Older Americans Day and the Seniors will be serving pie and ice cream in the Center.
