February 4, 2010

Many in the area were without power over the week-end of January 23-26. We were among those so there was no Max News.

Now onto better days and hot food! This Sunday, February 7th from 10:30 until 1:30 at the Max Civic Center, the Max Community Library is having their second annual Soup and Sandwich Lunch. There will be vender booths you can shop at, or purchase a ticket or ten for the raffle the library is holding, with the drawing being held at 1:00 that day, or watch the young kids romp in the children's play area. All proceeds go to benefit the Max Community Library and its programs and activities. It is being subsidized by Thrivent. The FHA kids from our Max Public School are going to help serve. Everyone is encouraged to attend and support our community library.

By 7 p.m. that same Sunday, you will be ready to take part in Adult Volleyball held at the Max Public School!

But bring your appetite to the Fire Department's Roast Pork Dinner being held on Sunday the 14th from 4 until 8 p.m. at the Civic Center. That evening you can work it off by playing Adult Volleyball at 7 p.m. at the school.

Monday, February 8th. Civic Club/Supper will be held at 6 p.m. at the Civic Center. Then on Wednesday, February 10th you are urged to attend the Alumni Association Reunion Planning meeting at 6:30 p.m. in the School Commons area.

February 19th is Pre-School Screening. More information on this later.
