The Max Community Library's Soup and Sandwich lunch this past Sunday was very successful even though the area was experiencing blustery weather. Approximately 100 adults and kids attended, with the event raising more than last year's Soup and Sandwich lunch. A big thank you to the Max FFA who helped out in many areas. A couple of vendor booths were there for anyone to make purchases. The raffle was a lot of fun with Wayne Johnson of Max winning the queen-size quilt. Three Cenex C-Store gift certificates, a Scheel's gift certificate, a package from Hair Magic, and a Pampered Chef item were also given away in the raffle. It was a very successful fundraiser for the library.
Elsewhere in Max, the 'Under New Management' Max Cafe was open for its first Sunday. It will continue to be open on Sundays from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
